Hartford, Wis., September 3, 2008 – NuTone® has introduced two new universal retractable hose models, CHV1 and CHV2, for use with not only NuTone Central Vacuum Systems but also those from other manufacturers. The hose stores at 11 feet, but expands to 30 feet in length, allowing quick cleaning and easy maneuvering.
“This hose is perfect for consumers who want a quick vacuuming option or do not have a lot of storage space,” says Tom Heidel, marketing manager, central vacuum systems, Broan-NuTone. ”The CHV1 and CHV2 are easy-to-use and convenient vacuum hose storage solutions.”
By rotating the handle slightly to unlock it from the external hose cuff, the hose will extend to 30 feet, allowing consumers to reach more spaces through the home. With the push of a button, the hose automatically retracts inside itself to 11 feet, providing easy storage.
According to Heidel, the CHV1 immediately turns on once it is inserted into a central vacuum unit and turns off once it is removed. The CHV2 features an on/off switch. This feature allows consumers to turn off the hose from anywhere in the room without having to walk back to the unit to remove the hose.
The NuTone central vacuum unit is engineered to fit easily into both new and existing homes. Made of a lightweight polymer designed to resist rust and dents, this flexible product can be installed for left- or right- intake. The contemporary, wall-hugging oval shape of the unit makes installation easy and saves homeowners space.
Quieter than other central vacuums, the NuTone central vacuum unit features an internal sound suppression system that greatly reduces motor noise. The motor baffle also helps to reduce fan noise, while cooling airflow at the same time. The NuTone central vacuum bags and filters feature HEPA-rated media for better filtration and cleaner air as well as an anti-stick coating to reduce the sticking of dirt to filtration media, which helps reduce the loss of power over time. In addition, the bags and filters feature Microban® Antimicrobial Product Protection to inhibit the potential growth of odor causing microbes in the bag as well as the growth of microbes that can cause fouling of the filter.
